Moles are growths on the skin that are usually brown or black in color. They vary from person to person and typically appear in the earlier years of a person’s life. Many people may have as many as 40 moles by adulthood. For some, moles in prominent locations may be bothersome; for this, there is mole removal.

Mole removal is a relatively simple procedure and can take as little as half an hour. Patients can have a few different reasons for wanting to remove a mole. Whether the mole has the potential to become dangerous or is simply undesirable, mole removal can be performed in a variety of ways. Excision with a scalpel or excision with cauterization are two common methods.

Consult with an experienced practitioner like Dr. Sandy Sule to learn more about mole removal.
