Research conducted on 79 sets of identical twins from 2007 to 2010 compared the impact of smoking on their appearance. Plastic surgeons involved in the study were asked to compare facial aging in photographs without any information about their smoking habits. Overall, they identified the smoker as having more facial wrinkles, sagging of the upper eyelids, and bigger bags under the eyes.
