]]> As we age, the tissue around our eyes begins to sag as excess fat and skin accumulate, resulting in a tired, older appearance. Board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sandy Sule can correct these aesthetic imperfections by performing blepharoplasty, also known as an eyelid lift. Although this procedure affects only the eye area, it can dramatically alter the appearance of the whole face.

A blepharoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. The surgery is an outpatient procedure, allowing you to go home afterwards. For a week after blepharoplasty surgery, your tissues will be healing and adjusting to their new locations.

In order to avoid any issues with the recovery process, make sure to keep your head above chest level while sleeping and to avoid smoking for at least a few weeks afterwards.
