The best way to approach your eyelid lift procedure is to obtain as much information about the process as possible. To find out more about what to expect on the day of the surgery, continue reading.
Before any anesthesia is administered, board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sandy Sule will carefully mark the skin with a pen to designate the incision points. To minimize visibility of the incision lines, he makes sure to follow your natural skin creases.
The remainder of the surgery will be performed under general anesthesia, where you will remain unconscious until the procedure is completed. Much of the operation is done with specialized tools to control any bleeding. The skin is then closed with very fine sutures. The entire procedure takes anywhere from one to three hours.
Immediately after your eyelid lift, you will be monitored briefly in our recovery room, which allows time for the sedation to wear off. You will then be discharged into the company of a driver arranged by you days earlier. Post-operative instructions will be given to you beforehand in writing, and you are then advised to go home and rest.
