Botulinum Toxin — Dallas Botox Injections

Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin type A, often branded as Botox or Dysport, does wonders for wrinkle prevention. The botulinum toxin injection used is a neuromuscular inhibitor that limits excessive facial muscles associated with wrinkling. Are there any concerns about being treating with this popular wrinkle solution during the heat of the summer?

It’s important to remember that to maximize the effectiveness of Botox, patients are advised to remain upright for the first four hours after treatment to prevent the solution from migrating. This process can be exacerbated by prolonged exposure to heat, including that experienced in a sauna, hot tub, tanning bed, or while sunbathing.

For more information and safety tips regarding botulinum toxin, contact the Dallas office of board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sandy Sule.
